Hello and welcome to the RTF 2025 Judging Team! Your role is essential to RTF success - you ensure fair and thorough evaluation of all participant projects.

Key Event Information:

  • Judging Period: June 21, 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM EST
  • Submission Deadline: June 21, 3:00 AM EST
  • Awards Ceremony: June 21, 6:00 PM EST
  • Expected Projects: 25-60 submissions

Your Role Details:

  • Team: Judging
  • Reports To: Community Manager, marcylaycelle
  • Team Members: CyberJoules, JessRappaport, SocksTheWolf, ChelseaBytes

Judging Criteria (1-5 scale, 20% each category):

  • Technical Execution (20%): Code quality, functionality, innovation
  • Visual Design (20%): UI/UX, aesthetics, user experience
  • Community Impact (20%): Potential benefit to LGBTQIA+ creators/community
  • Creative Innovation (20%): Uniqueness, creativity, artistic vision
  • "Because" Statement (20%): Authenticity and personal connection to project motivation

Scoring Scale:

  • 5 = Exceptional: Outstanding work that exceeds expectations
  • 4 = Strong: Well-executed with clear merit
  • 3 = Solid: Meets requirements with competent execution
  • 2 = Developing: Shows effort but needs improvement
  • 1 = Minimal: Basic attempt with significant gaps

Your Timeline:

  • June 20: Attend judges briefing meeting (scheduled by marcylaycelle)
  • June 21, 3:00 AM: Submissions close, judging materials available
  • June 21, 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM: Judging period (5 hours)
  • June 21, 4:00 PM: Final scores due
  • June 21, 6:00 PM: Awards ceremony

Judging Process:

  1. Access submission system (details provided by marcylaycelle)
  1. Review all submissions during judging window
  1. Score each project in all 5 categories
  1. Submit scores by 4:00 PM deadline
  1. Be available for tie-breaking if needed

Important Notes:

  • Conflict of Interest: Judges cannot submit projects for awards
  • Confidentiality: Keep all submissions and scores confidential until ceremony
  • Consistency: Use scoring rubric consistently across all projects
